A lot of people aren’t happy with their auto insurance these days, either because of its high cost or they wish they had more discounts. But if you happen to be a teacher, you don’t have as much to worry about. According to an article on MSN Money, “Horace Mann Insurance…offers discounts to teachers who belong to state education associations or the National Education Association… (also) available through…one of its two subsidiaries — Allegiance Insurance or Teachers Insurance.” The discounts are apparently based on the assumptions that teachers have a stable occupation, stable employment, and the understanding that the community scrutinizes them. These companies claim that stable jobs, being under the watchful eyes of society, and having responsibility make teachers more likely to be better drivers and therefore deserving of auto insurance discounts.
